Allison Grischow has been teaching piano, voice, and acting students for over 8 years, and it is her personal philosophy that learning music should be joyful and a ton of fun! She holds degrees in Theatre and Music from Valparaiso University and is a graduate of Second City’s Music Improv Conservatory. She has taught young people and adults of all ages across Chicago and Los Angeles with Chicago Children’s Theatre, Emerald City Theatre, Playmaker’s Laboratory Theatre, Lifeline Theatre, MA School of Acting and in Chicago Public Schools. Allison has also helped countless students to create and compose 10+ New Musicals at her alma mater. In addition to teaching music, Allison is an accomplished actor and you may have seen her in the Romantic Comedy film Baking Up Love, in commercials for Smithfield, Pearson Textbooks, The Kentucky Lottery and more, as well as countless theatre productions and voiceovers. In her spare time Allison loves to swing from trapezes and to spend time with her pet bird Buckbeak – who knows how to whistle quite a few songs himself!
